A-Gas South Korea 4

The A-Gas South Korea project is a highly-rated ozone depleting substance (ODS) destruction initiative that sources stockpiled CFC-11 refrigerants from South Korea and ships them to TEAP-approved destruction facilities in the United States for permanent destruction. This 10-year project addresses a critical gap left by the Montreal Protocol by destroying potent greenhouse gases that have a global warming potential 4,600 times greater than CO2 and would otherwise slowly leak into the atmosphere through container degradation. The project delivers dual environmental benefits by preventing both powerful greenhouse gas emissions and ozone layer damage, while supporting the transition to sustainable cooling technologies and protecting human health by maintaining the ozone layer's protective function against harmful UV radiation.
